Water hyacinth, made to order

Water hyacinth grows faster than anyone wants it to. It chokes the canals of the Red River delta and has to be cleared, so the stems that become a basket were going to be pulled out regardless. Cut, split and sun-dried, the stem becomes a thick soft cord with a matte, slightly ridged surface. It weaves plumper than seagrass, which is why a hyacinth basket reads as substantial at the same wall thickness.

We make open baskets, lidded bins, trays, planters and rectangular storage in it. Made to order, nothing off the shelf: 300 pieces per item, mixed to EUR 5,000 across the order.
