Seagrass homeware, made to order
The deepest part of our range, and the fibre our villages have worked longest.
Seagrass is cut from coastal and delta wetlands, sun-dried, and twisted into cord before it is woven. Dried properly it is pale gold, holds a firm edge, and takes a dye at the strand rather than on the surface, which is why a two-tone seagrass basket keeps its colour where a sprayed one does not. It is a grass, not a wood, so it is light in a carton and cheap to ship relative to its volume.
We make baskets, placemats, planters, hampers and pet beds in it, to your drawing or to a model from our range. Nothing is held in stock. A first run of 300 pieces per item is a normal order for us, and orders are mixed across as many items as it takes to reach EUR 5,000.
