Rattan homeware, made to order

Rattan is a climbing palm. The core is solid and springy, so it can be steamed and bent into a form that holds, and the peel can be split into the fine flat strand used for close weave. That is why a rattan box keeps square corners and a rattan lampshade keeps its curve, where a grass fibre would need a wire frame underneath.

We make lidded storage, placemats, toy and shaped baskets, trolleys and lampshades in it. Indonesia is the volume answer in rattan and we are not trying to be that: we take the orders that are too small for a plantation-scale exporter. 300 pieces per item, mixed to EUR 5,000.
